Princeton, NJ – December 16, 2024 – After several years of successful virtual events, the Princeton Community Works (PCW) Annual Conference is excited to announce its return to an in-person format for 2025. The conference will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Mercer County Community College Conference Center in Princeton, NJ from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This year’s theme, “COME TOGETHER, BUILD COMMUNITY, BE INSPIRED,” invites nonprofit professionals, volunteers, and community leaders to unite for a day of dynamic learning, networking, and collaboration. With a focus on the evolving needs of nonprofit organizations, this year’s conference will offer a rich array of workshops designed to provide both practical tools and fresh perspectives on key challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Workshop Highlights
The 2025 conference will feature an expanded lineup of workshops, providing attendees with a wide range of topics to choose from. Several of the workshops will feature expert-led panel discussions on key nonprofit topics, including strategies for securing grants and creating a culture of positivity.
Concurrent Workshops for Session 1: 9:45am to 11:00am
- The Joy of Fundraising: Embrace creative strategies for cultivating donor relationships and sustaining funding streams.
- Broadening Audience Through Media: Learn how to effectively use media to increase visibility and engage with a wider community.
- Listening as a Superpower: Gain insights into the power of active listening to foster better communication and stronger connections.
- Nonprofit Finance: What You Don’t Know Can Cost You: Understand essential financial principles that every nonprofit leader should know to ensure long-term stability.
- Stress Management Techniques: Practical methods to manage stress and maintain well-being.
- Volunteers: Valuable Assets: Explore tools and techniques for empowering, engaging and retaining volunteers.
- Board Not Bored: Creating Engaged Boards: Discover effective techniques for building strong, active boards that contribute to the success of the organization.
Concurrent Workshops for Session 2: 11:15am to 12:30pm
- Radical Collaboration: Strategic Partners: Learn how to build powerful partnerships that drive mission impact.
- Creating a Climate of Positivity, Inclusivity, and Appreciation: Simple ways to create a culture of positivity, inclusivity, and appreciation.
- Effective Governance for Today’s World: Insights on adapting governance practices to meet the needs of today’s rapidly changing nonprofit landscape.
- Building an Effective Team: Practical approaches for recruiting, developing, and empowering nonprofit teams for maximum impact.
- Internal Communications: Building Strength Within: Enhance communication within your organization to foster transparency, trust, and collaboration.
- Grant Writing: Essential Techniques: Learn best practices for navigating the world of grants, from securing funding to managing awards.
- Working Through Conflict: Gain techniques for resolving conflicts and maintaining a healthy organizational culture.
Attendees will also have ample opportunities to engage in networking sessions, allowing them to connect with peers, share insights, and exchange valuable resources. These interactions are designed to foster collaboration and inspire new approaches to addressing community challenges.
“We are focusing on the quickly evolving needs of nonprofits, which are constant for everyone from mom and pop organizations to large institutional nonprofits. All need to be able to know how to assess and adapt to new and challenging situations in these ever-changing times,” says Smith. “ That’s why we are requiring all workshop leaders to focus on giving attendees at least three actionable takeaways that they can implement immediately.”
