This workshop will give a brief overview of what can undermine motivation and then mainly focus on tools and techniques that can be used for Board, Staff, Volunteers, or Committees to engage and empower.

Too many nonprofits struggle to find qualified board members who bring the appropriate skills, temperament, expectations, and passion to the organization they serve. Once you have strong board members, you want to keep them motivated and engaged. This workshop will take you step by step through the “science” of the process to achieve the dual goal of getting the right people on the bus who do their job well, while also noting the “art” that is equally necessary.

This workshop will provide an overview of significant issues nonprofits should address when working with paid staff and volunteers.

Whether you are new to volunteer management or want a refresher, this is for you! You’ll learn proven, practical methods to find and attract volunteers, and then get them off to a good start and keep them engaged and motivated. If you can’t bring in the right volunteers for the right openings, and keep them coming back, you won’t be able to deliver on your mission.

In this workshop you will learn how to engage your organization in the development of a forward-leaning, collaboratively designed strategic plan. The planning process will proceed from the identification and examination of challenges and beliefs, through the creation of a meaningful mission/purpose statement, to specific goals and action plans. We will also address plan implementation, monitoring progress and effectiveness of the plan, and making timely adjustments.
