This session will combine small and large group activities with time for personal introspection to help you identify key aspects in your search for meaningful volunteer work. A short personal questionnaire and a brief organizational assessment will be provided to help you get a better handle on how to find the best volunteer role for you.
Susan Kirkland
Sue Kirkland is Principal, Sue Kirkland Life Consulting LLC. A former teacher, counselor, and community organizer, Sue spent a 30+year career with the American Cancer Society serving at local, regional and national levels. A gifted teacher and facilitator, Sue has provided seminar sessions for both volunteers and staff throughout the US and for international conferences in Mexico, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Russia. She has authored articles in two editions of the Organization Development Journal, published by the Organizational Development Institute. Having “graduated” from the ACS, Sue continues to be active in her community and offers her learning and organizational development expertise to local nonprofit organizations through Sue Kirkland Life Consulting LLC. She leaves time to travel with her husband, a captain for United Airlines. She is a volunteer Trustee for the Lawrence Township Community Foundation, continues to volunteer for the ACS’s Run for Dad event, is a volunteer consultant for the D & R Greenway Trust, and serves on the planning committee for Princeton Community Works. Taking her lifelong learning in a new direction, Sue earned her Yoga Instructor Certification from Yandara Yoga Institute. Sue and her husband, Captain Mitch Leibowitz, make their home in Princeton.
