Funders ask us to measure our impact, though the idea of measurement can often feel overwhelming, onerous, or irrelevant to our particular work. This workshop will cover why measurement can empower your organization to sharpen its focus, help direct your limited resources, and position your organization to improve. The session aims to convince you that measurement is crucial to your organization’s success, far beyond satisfying funder requirements. It also aims to cover basic topics in measurement. Topics covered will include the following:
1. Why do you need to measure?
2. What kinds of measures are there?
3. How should you choose what to measure?
4. How should you gather data?
5. How should you organize your data?
6. How should you use data to inform problem-solving?
7. What comes next?
